Questo numero dei QSS intende offrire alcuni contributi di stimolo e di sussidio per accompagnare la riflessione personale di ciascuno in quella ricerca di chiarificazione e di approfondimento che precede ogni tentativo di rinnovamento e di applicazione che non voglia restare superficiale ed inefficace. Questo quaderno è dedicato a ciò che oggi si usa chiamare «memoria», cioè l’approccio storico. La «memoria» è preparazione e riferimento fondamentale per una corretta applicazione all’oggi.
Apre questo numero un breve contributo sulla meditazione nelle Costituzioni delle FMA, integrativo del discorso fatto precedentemente. La riflessione continua poi in tre ambiti che, soprattutto nel concreto quotidiano, si dimostrano problematici: anzitutto è necessario che la meditazione si trovi in piena sintonia con il primato riconosciuto alla Liturgia e all’ascolto della Parola di Dio; lo scopo, le esigenze e i frutti della meditazione però non si identificano senz’altro con quelli della celebrazione liturgica; infine le tecniche «orientali» di meditazione non raggiungono ciò che è specifico della meditazione cristiana.
Nella prospettiva di fondo accennata il CG22 ha risposto a una duplice preoccupazione espressa anche dai Capitoli ispettoriali: di manifestare che la nostra preghiera è allo stesso tempo profondamente ecclesiale, rispondente alle esigenze del rinnovamento liturgico promosso dal Vatricano II, e tipicamente salesiana, in sintonia con la nostra specifica missione nella Chiesa” (// progetto di vita dei Salesiani di Don Bosco, Roma, Ed. In these pages I would like to reflect on youth ministry with a special focus on family. I hope that, by the end of this reflection no one could say that most of the considerations made were on family ministry rather than on youth ministry.
The document that now reaches all confreres through this publication is subtitled “Post-Chapter reflection” and not “Chapter documents”, as has customarily been the case in the past. This is because the Chapter Assembly did not arrive at the point of final approval of the text by vote. Only a few Chapter deliberations, especially those of a legal nature, saw the light of day during the first four weeks of our work. The Acts of the GC27 are divided into three fundamental parts: the text which develops the theme “Witnesses to the radical approach of the Gospel”; the deliberations; the appendices. All these parts are important and contribute to an understanding of the Chapter event and of its spirit. Added to these are my presentation and the analytical index of the development of the theme. It should not be forgotten that these Acts find in the letter of convocation written by the Rector Major emeritus Fr pascual Chavez, some ideas which can help with a better interpretation of even the Chapter itself. The publication of the Acts, with the documents that form part of them, makes the decisions taken official policy, and marks the starting point of the six-year period 2008 – 2014.
The theme of the GC26 is a single one even though it is set out in key issues. At first sight it might seem that the GC26 dealt with five different questions; in realty it is just the one theme: Don Bosco’s programme of spiritual and apostolic life. The motto “Da mihi animas, cetera tolle” can be fully understood from a knowledge of the life and work of our beloved Father and Founder Don Bosco.
