The second part of this study published in the previous issue of this journal had situated Kristu Jyoti College in its wider historical context.
Kristu Jyoti College, built and launched on its mission of theological formation of the Salesians in the whole of India, was envisioned and realized in a fast-changing post-colonial world which was throwing up daunting challenges for the Church and consecrated life in general and for the Salesian Congregation with its professed goal of catering to the young and the needy in particular and that at a time when newly independent India was seeking to find its place in the comity of nations.
Le 24 mai 2018 à Turin, lors de la session plénière du Conseil Général des Salésiens, le Rettor Maggiore annonce la préparation du prochain Chapitre Général (CG 28).
En janvier 2006, mon prédécesseur, le P. Pascual Chávez Villanueva, alors Recteur Majeur des Salésiens, a présenté l’Étrenne 2006 intitulée “Et Jésus grandissait en sagesse, en taille et en grâce” (Lc 2,52), invitant la Famille Salésienne à renouveler son engagement envers les familles, suivant ainsi l’invitation du Pape Jean-Paul II pour la défense de la vie à travers la famille.
Ce temps de service en tant que Recteur Majeur m’a permis de mieux connaître et d’aimer encore plus la Congrégation et notre Famille Salésienne.
L’extrait discute du Jubilé Extraordinaire de la Miséricorde proclamé par le Pape François, soulignant son importance pour l’Église. Ce Jubilé, débuté le 8 décembre 2015 et clôturé le 20 novembre 2016, invite les croyants à contempler le mystère de la miséricorde divine, source de joie et de paix.
Cet extrait se concentre sur la célébration du bicentenaire de la naissance de Don Bosco, initiée en 2014 et culminant en 2015 avec des événements festifs à travers le monde salésien.
Cette lettre est adressée aux confrères et membres de la Famille Salésienne, pour marquer la célébration de deux anniversaires importants : le centenaire de la mort de Don Paolo Albera en 2021 et le quatrième centenaire de la mort de Saint François de Sales en 2022.
