Michal Vojtáš – Reviving Don Bosco’s oratory. Salesian Youth Ministry, leadership and innovative project management

The “Salesians of Don Bosco” (SDB) are the largest Catholic religious order with a primary focus on youth ministry and education. If we observe its action in synergy with the whole Salesian Family, uniting more than 30 congregations, institutes, associations and movements, we can state that the Salesian Youth Ministry influences millions of young people worldwide through schools, youth centres, parishes, missionary centres, informal activities, volunteering, and animation.

Il Progetto Educativo-Pastorale Salesiano (PEPS) è stato uno dei temi centrali del ripensamento postconciliare della missione salesiana. L’importanza del progettare riflette un cambio complesso di accentuazioni, avvenuto negli anni del dopo Concilio, da un’educazione fedele ai modelli del passato e spesso ripetitiva verso un’impostazione critica della pedagogia che guarda al futuro.

Michal Vojtáš – Progettare la pastorale. Percorsi innovativi, virtuosi e umilmente integrali

L’insieme di elementi espliciti e impliciti, di progetto scritto e progetto nelle menti delle persone sono il progetto reale che influenza la pratica, le relazioni, il vissuto e i frutti della pastorale. Se quindi allarghiamo il concetto di progetto, la domanda sul perché della progettazione ha una risposta chiara. Non si può non progettare, si può solo progettare meglio o peggio, rivisitando i nostri quadri mentali o rimanendone vittime incoscienti.

La Escuela Normal Superior (ENS), es una institución formadora de maestros, ubicada en el Área Metropolitana de Medellín (Antioquia-Colombia), zona densamente poblada y con fuertes contrastes entre ricos y pobres. Estos últimos, en su gran mayoría, llegaron huyendo de la violencia o buscando mejores condiciones de vida. Esta situación ha propiciado el aumento de niños y jóvenes en situación de riesgo, a los cuales el Estado no siempre les puede garantizar el derecho a la educación con calidad. The topic of professional formation within the Salesian world is to be read in the light of the early experience of Don Bosco. One will not understand either the vision or the value of Salesian professional training as a whole if one overlooks this fundamental phase which Don Bosco lived and was able to help germinate and blossom.
