Questo articolo è una presentazione dello studio sui primi trent’anni (1923- 1953) della presenza e dell’impianto del carisma salesiano nel nord est dell’india. Il primo gruppo di sei missionarie FMA giunse in questa regione l’8 dicembre 1923. Negli anni, presi in considerazione in questo studio, ci sono state otto fondazioni, delle quali sette sparse nelle diverse parti della regione del nord est ed una nello stato adiacente del West Bengal.
Nella ricerca storica, l’introduzione e conoscenza di don Bosco nell’ambiente tedesco porta la data dell’anno 1883, anno di pubblicazione di un’opera francese, tradotta in tedesco, sulla persona e le opere di don Bosco, da parte del medico dott. Charles D’Espiney. Il suo desiderio di promuovere l’unione dei Cooperatori salesiani lo spinse a scrivere un libretto con la narrazione di fatti riguardanti la vita di don Bosco. Il libretto capitò nelle mani del vescovo Dr. Johannes Laurent, che ne propose la traduzione in tedesco e scrisse una premessa datata “Pasqua 1882”.
Mary Mazzarello had not seen Don Bosco until October of 1864, when he visited Mornese. In fact, it was not until 1871, some seven years later, that she came under the direct authority of the Founder, when the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was founded. However, she seems to have been well prepared for her work with Don Bosco and the Salesians, both in her philosophical formation and her life experiences. Sono i due fondamentali aspetti che disegnano la figura storica di madre Mazzarello, quale appunto si profila sempre più chiaramente a un secolo dalla sua scomparsa: in un intreccio mirabile di grazia, che lavora nelle profondità dello spirito, mai concepito o sognato, e andato oltre ogni previsione e aspettativa, sua e degli altri.
The present paper, a textual elaboration of the power-point presented at the Batulao Seminar, tries to re-capture the salient moments in the history of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Timor (and Indonesia) from their arrival up to the present day. Our presence in this land is rather recent considering that we arrived in Timor only in 1988.
This article looks at the first thirty years of the presence and implantation of the Salesian charism on the soil of North-East India. The first group of six FMA missionaries disembarked in this region on 8 December 1923. During the span of time under consideration, there were eight foundations of which seven were in the North-East and one in West Bengal.
La fundación de las Hijas de María Auxiliadora en Colombia se realizó en 1897 por una gestión expresa da don Evasio Rabagliati para que se dedicaran a la educación, y junto con los SDB, se encargaran de la misión en el Lazareto de Contratación. La España de la Restauración (1875-1931), controvertido período de transición de los siglos XIX al XX, en el que liberalismo y corrientes laicistas se alternan con etapas de desarrollo, crisis económicas, hundimiento colonial, y derrocamiento monárquico, constituye el marco histórico de los años en los que se implanta e inicia su desarrollo en tierras españolas la Obra salesiana, de forma especial de 1888 a 1910, años que abarca el rectorado de Don Miguel Rua, primer sucesor de Don Bosco, tema central del 5º Congreso de Historia de la Obra Salesiana, celebrado en Turín del 28 de octubre al 1 de noviembre de 2009. Fr. Carlo Della Torre SDB is the Founder of the Institute of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary. The History and the development of this Institution are strictly connected with the life of the Founder.
The universal call of the people of God to holiness is carried out in a special way by the members of the Congregation of Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (SIHM). The sign of God’s merciful love towards the lnstitute is clearly manifested in the history especially at the time of birth in the Church, through its founder and its history.
ln the year in which Pope Pius XI promulgated the encyclical Rerum Ecclesiae (1926),on 16 February 1926, the Salesian missionaries arrived in Miyazaki, Japan, center of their mission, and capital of the province in the Island of Kyushu.
After the permission from the General Council was obtained, Sr. Catherine Moore, delegate of the Provincial Superior, left Hongkong for the Philippines on 1° December 1955 with Sr. Erminia Borzini to make the necessary preparations.
The first article of the constitution of the FMA expresses this characteristic of the institute as follows:
“Through the gift of the Holy Spiril and the direct intervention of Mary, St. John Bosco Founded our Institute as a response of salvation to the profound hopes of young girls. He endowed it with a spiritual heritage that had its inspiration in the charity of Christ the Good Shepherd, and imparted to it a strong missionary impulse”. (Const.I ).
On this background, we see the great problems of inculturation; development of the Catholic Church in multi-religious contexts afflicted by the problems of international politics; relationships between missionary Religious Congregations, and, not the least, difficulties in communication and mutual understanding between these countries and the General Council resident in Italy.
Da quando nel 1880 le prime Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice (FMA) giungono in Sicilia, nel corso di pochi anni, la loro presenza si sviluppa al punto tale da assumere una forte fisionomia, sia nell’ambito della Chiesa che della società siciliana. Già da alcuni anni in Sicilia vi erano delle congregazioni religiose femminili, impegnate in special modo nell’ambito dell’assistenza e dell’educazione, ma è proprio a partire dagli anni ’80 che nell’isola si assiste ad una progressiva ed intensa trasformazione nell’ambito della vita religiosa femminile.
