The stage thus becomes, not only a place of learning for the spectators, but also for the actors themselves. In this paper the author describes how the spiritual bond between Don Bosco and Maria Mazzarello was born, up to the idea on the part of the Saint to create a Salesian women’s congregation. In fact, the Institute of the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians, was founded by the two Saints in 1872.

Aldo Giraudo – Il contesto, le intenzioni dell’autore e i livelli d’interpretazione. Domenico Savio raccontato da don Bosco: riflessioni sulla Vita. Atti del Simposio

Don Bosco pubblica la Vita del giovanetto Savio Domenico nell’aprile 1859 come fascicolo della collana mensile “Letture Cattoliche”, giunta al suo sesto anno di attività. Con questo piccolo e importantissimo libro si può considerare chiuso il primo periodo dell’azione pastorale e educativa del santo. Pochi mesi dopo, infatti, il 18 dicembre, si costituirà ufficialmente la Società Salesiana, e inizierà una nuova fase della vita di don Bosco, quella che lo vedrà fondatore di famiglie religiose, consolidatore e diffusore di un’opera che da Torino sarà esportata a livello mondiale con successo crescente.
