The Salesian Bulletin was founded by Don Bosco in 1877 to share news of the Salesian mission and promote his educational charism worldwide. The English edition was first published in 1892, reflecting the rapid growth of the Salesian presence in English-speaking countries.
From the beginning, the English-language Bulletin served not only to report on the life of Salesian houses in Britain and beyond, but also to strengthen ties with benefactors, support missionary efforts, and inspire lay collaboration. Over the decades, it became a vital tool for communicating the values of Don Bosco’s preventive system, especially during times of social and political change.
Today, the English Salesian Bulletin—published in the UK as Don Bosco Today—continues this mission, offering a window into the work of the Salesian Family and its commitment to young people across the globe.
