This number of the Acts brings you the abundant material resulting from the GC24. In this way too are promulgated, in Iine with the Constitutions (C 148), the deliberations contained in two documents: the longer one concerning communion and sharing in the spirit and mission of Don Bosco on the part of Salesians and laity, and the other one which carries the modifications to the Constitutions and General Regulations together with other guidelines on the government of the Society.

Arcadio Cuadrado,Julián Sánchez – “Inchiesta sulla vocazione salesiana nella Spagna contemporanea” in “Colloqui sulla vita salesiana, 10”

Le inchieste sulle vocazioni salesiane nel 1981, realizzate in due ispettorie spagnole particolarmente vivaci (Madrid e Bilbao), i cui risultati furono esposti da don Arcadio Cuadrado e don Juliàn Sànchez, fecero intendere che il servizio ai giovani è oggi un motivo d’impegno dominante nelle giovani generazioni salesiane.

Grzegorz Jaskot – “Andrzej Świda (1905-1955): salesiano con una mente aperta e sguardo lungimirante” in “Ricerche Storiche Salesiane”

Don Andrzej Świda, sacerdote SDB, polacco, nato il 23 marzo 1905 a Malecz, nell’attuale Bielorussia – morto a Warszawa il 19 febbraio 1995. Allora la città di Malecz era sotto il dominio russo, per effetto delle ben note spartizioni della Polonia per opera della Russia, Prussia e Austria, avvenute nella seconda metà del XVIII secolo.

Joseph Di Mauro – School Leadership Formation in the Salesian Tradition

The goal of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales is expressed in the first paragraph of the Constitutions which reads: “Their wholehearted endeavor will be to sanctify themselves, in order to aid more efficaciously the sanctification of their neighbor, through the different functions of the sacred ministry, the Christian education of youth, and missions in foreign lands” (Dufour, 1933/1994, p. 53). Joseph Boenzi – Paolo Albera’s instructions early efforts to inculcate the Spirit of Don Bosco

Among Saint John Bosco’s early disciples, Paolo Albera (1845-1921) was one who was called upon to articulate and defend the founder’s spirit. Even as a youth, he had been numbered among Don Bosco’s most beloved. He served in a variety of leadership positions from his teenage years until his election as rector major in 1910. Perhaps his most significant role before becoming superior general was that of spiritual director general of the Salesian Society, a post he held from 1892 until 1910. Kaoru Tamura – Something about Mary. Reflections on Don Bosco, mother Mazzarello and the development of the “Spirit of Mornese”

Mary Mazzarello had not seen Don Bosco until October of 1864, when he visited Mornese. In fact, it was not until 1871, some seven years later, that she came under the direct authority of the Founder, when the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was founded. However, she seems to have been well prepared for her work with Don Bosco and the Salesians, both in her philosophical formation and her life experiences.
