Luz Angela Hernandez Castrillon – “El Sistema Preventivo y la Justicia restaurativa” in “Con Don Bosco educatori dei giovani del nostro tempo”

La misión de la Escuela Normal Superior Pedro Justo Berrio, es formar maestros para los niveles de preescolar y básica primaria, niños y jóvenes en una escuela incluyente que atiende a la diversidad, con los valores y principios de la pedagogía Salesiana, inspirado en el sistema preventivo de Don Bosco y de Madre Mazzarello. La institución cuenta con 990 estudiantes distribuidos desde el grado preescolar hasta el programa de formación de maestros, cuya entramado de relaciones interpersonales requiere de la intervención preventiva, permanente y restaurativa para afrontar los conflictos no solo en lo resolutivo sino como oportunidad de crecimiento individual y colectivo.

La autora tiene la intención de presentar las obras sociales realizadas por la Hija de María Auxiliadora, sor María Romero (1902-1977), en Costa Rica, durante los últimos cuarenta años de su vida, previa indicación del ambiente histórico-eclesiástico en el que se encontraba la sierva de Dios y de la misión de las Hijas de María Auxiliadora en el país en cuestión.

Maria Maul – Fragility in the life of Mary Mazzarello

In the altar of the large church to St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello in Mornese-Mazzarelli, a vertebra of her backbone has been inserted as a symbol of her upright personality and her inner strength. It is not surprising, therefore, that Fr. Alberto Cavaglià, in his celebratory lecture on 14 May 1932, at the end of the Jubilee Year with which the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) celebrated the 50th anniversary of Mary Mazzarello’s death, compared her to the “strong and wise women” of the Book of Proverbs (cf. Kaoru Tamura – Something about Mary. Reflections on Don Bosco, mother Mazzarello and the development of the “Spirit of Mornese”

Mary Mazzarello had not seen Don Bosco until October of 1864, when he visited Mornese. In fact, it was not until 1871, some seven years later, that she came under the direct authority of the Founder, when the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was founded. However, she seems to have been well prepared for her work with Don Bosco and the Salesians, both in her philosophical formation and her life experiences.
