Eugenio Ceria – Profiles of thirty-three salesian coadjutor brothers

In this heartfelt introduction, Fr. Eugene Ceria explains how the idea for writing the profiles of early Salesian coadjutor brothers arose. After completing previous projects, he sought inspiration and was moved to honor those brothers who had been formed directly by Don Bosco. Drawing from biographies, the Biographical Memoirs, obituary letters, personal knowledge, and archival materials, he compiled profiles of 33 exemplary coadjutor brothers, emphasizing their virtues and legacy. His intent is not to analyze faults, but to offer uplifting examples for spiritual reflection, especially for present and future coadjutor brothers. The work stands as a tribute to Don Bosco’s vision and to the enduring value of the coadjutor vocation in the Salesian family.
