Lo studio che viene proposto prende in esame “quanto” e “come” la Congregazione salesiana, a partire dal Concilio Vaticano II a oggi, ha riflettuto sulla natura della sua missione educativa e pastorale tra i giovani. Punto di partenza di questa indagine è il CG19 celebratosi nella primavera del 1965 a lavori conciliari ancora in corso. Negli Atti del CG la Congregazione esprime in modo netto la propria identità educativa consolidata dalla tradizione salesiana e sintetizzabile nello slogan formare “buoni cristiani e onesti cittadini”. The author of this article wants to explore the phenomenology of Giovanni Bosco’s encounter with his pupils. We would like to explain two explorative issues, that is, a) what are the characteristic features of Giovanni Bosco’s relations with his students and what are the resulting implications; and b) how socially maladjusted youth perceive their educator and how such teacher-student relations fit into the category of the master-apprentice dialogue?

In a very unique way, the women of the Gospels whose stories Francis cites are noteworthy in that they, to varying extents, enjoyed a personal relationship with Jesus himself, and thus with God. Their understanding of sacred love is therefore particularly profound.

While preparing pilgrimages and spiritual exercises in Annecy and the neighborhood, I discovered reliable sources among the German and Dutch Oblates of St Francis de Sales. As a consequence of keeping contact with various participants, they invited the undersigned to take part in the annual meetings of their Arbeitsgemeinschaft (“study group”) in Eichstätt, Germany.

John Roche – Salesian evangelization. At the threshold of the bicentennial of Don Bosco’s birth – Part 2

MaryJo Leddy explained that in her act of accompaniment with many of the young adults assisting in her ministry to the refugees, she found herself taking a lead from them. She has found a voice of conscience and concern in this generation. She is touched by their thirst and hunger for holiness and authenticity.
